How we replaced 10 analysts with one tool

About the project
While developing an ERP system for a company that deals with metal-cutting tools and industrial equipment, the idea arose to try to optimize the work of the company's analytics department.
Pegas has been successfully supplying metal-cutting tools and equipment since 2006. During its existence, the company has taken a big step forward and now offers a range of services, from selling tools and equipment to the introduction of your parts in production. In addition to tool sales, there is also a line for providing engineering services: from the customer's drawing to the release of finished products using your equipment.
Solution
We built a processor and connected the company's internal databases, such as Orders, Customers, Sales, Production, Logistics, Reports, to the large language model (LLM). Thus, they allowed the user to directly access the system with an analytical query in the format of ordinary spoken language. For example, to find out the current sales plan for the quarter, the user asks the system “What is the current status of the sales plan, calculate in rubles and dollars at the current exchange rate.” The system will take data from the sales database, the current dollar exchange rate is interesting, make calculations and respond in an understandable format in a matter of seconds.
Result
The tool remains the most popular module among employees. The analytics department has stopped wasting time on small requests from colleagues and is now fully focused on large tasks.
